Thor Odinson || FC: Chris Hemsworth || TAKEN

Thor is the eldest of Odin’s sons and his demeanor reflects it accordingly. He is headstrong and arrogant, very aware of his good looks and strength, and while he was humbled by his days spent upon Midgard, he remains still very entitled to his throne and to his birthright. Thor believes in honor, justice, and order and is the first in line to receive Odin’s throne — however, he sometimes does not want it. Rather, he would spend his time upon Midgard, with the mortals that he has grown to love and cherish.
His relationship with his family is steadfast and close, and the loss of Loki from the bonds of close friendship was a hard trial for him to face. Ultimately, he overcomes the sadness of losing a brother with each step towards darkness that the Trickster takes, though he will always have a special place in his heart for the man he one called brother.

asgardian-frost sent: [What characters are you still in need of?

Open roles are sorted on this page according to gender, however not all open roles have had advertisements made for them yet, as finding Face Claims is rather dirty work.

Taken roles can be found here.

And a full list of open and taken characters can be found here.

patricia-dearest sent: Are OC's allowed in this roleplay?

That they are!

The only restrictions we hold on Original Characters are the following:

  • If they are related to any canon characters, contact the player of that character and get approval before applying for a character slot in the group. We don’t want to step on any toes.
  • No royalty unless your character fits into the pantheon according to myth. Example: Freyja is considered royalty but is given no role in the Earth-626 comics, so we would call her an OC, but she fits into the myth just fine.
  • No gods/goddesses that are not listed in the mythological pantheon. For example: we won’t accept a character that claims the title ‘God of Music’ because there is no god of music in the pantheon. This rule is negotiable for exceptions, however. Further discourse on this topic can be facilitated through ask or Skype.

That being said, if you are going to submit for a character slot for an OC, then we expect a very in-depth character analysis on your application, and may followup with a request for a bit of prose for which we will provide the prompt.

plays

We heard that enemies were approaching from the south
We marched to face them, I killed their scout
But we were ambushed and slaughtered in the night
We fought so bravely but none were left alive

Now I open my eyes and what do I see
A rainbow in the moonlight, pipers calling me
They say don’t be afraid and asked me to follow
You’ve been expected, so forget your sorrow!

Their warrior’s souls forever rejoice
With our ancestors we raise our horns
Their warrior’s swords forever shine on
Welcoming our brothers at the break of dawn!

Life is so short
Oh! Son of the north!
You’ll find your peace
At the end of your journey

Hey! All greet us when we open the door
Familiar faces, brothers, it’s been too long
Beer is flowing, the smell of burning meat
In the morning battle reigns like hel’s been unleashed
As the sun sets behind the mountain’s peak
The master of the house shouts “drink and feast!”
This feels like it is too good to be true
The call for final battle will be here
Soon.

Skurge, The Executioner || FC: Manu Bennett || OPEN

A behemoth of a man, Skurge was once a prized warrior-criminal in the underbelly of lower-Asgard, though his story is largely unknown. All that is known now of Skurge is his undying devotion to his lady and mistress, the Enchantress, Amora. He does not think unless given order. He does not eat or breathe without the expressed permission of his mistress.
What began as an infatuation caused by Amora’s love spells often employed to usurp men of their free will, evolved and transformed Skurge into her personal drone and body guard. He lives for her and he dies for her — without hesitation.
All that he has is his love for battle and his love for his mistress. Both of which are unconditional.

Amora, The Enchantress || FC: Tabrett Bethell || OPEN

The Enchantress’ parentage is unknown, though it is known she was born in Asgard and has a sister by the name of Lorelei. Amora began learning magic as an apprentice of Karnilla, Queen of the Norns but was eventually banished. She continued learning magic on her own, notably by seducing others well versed in magic and learning their secrets. In time, Amora became one of the more powerful magic-wielders in Asgard, with her magical arsenal focused on (but not limited to) charming and mind-controlling people. Her by-then well-renowned beauty did not hinder in this.

andashingwarrior sent: //just wanted to drop a note that if someone from the group needs a certain photo (landscape/people/setting) as starter they can use the original posts at schiffeversenken()tumblr()com, I don't mind a wall of RPG notifications on that blog and when I already run a hipster journal I can already put it to good use [if anyone needs something special I can take a look around and will post it up over there too]
Loki Laufeyson || FC: Matt Smith || TAKEN

Many years ago, when Bor, ruler of Asgard, was battling frost giants, he followed a wounded giant to a powerful sorcerer that was waiting for him. The sorcerer caught him unaware, turning Bor into snow. Bor’s son, Odin, found his father as he was blowing away; Bor begged Odin to find a sorcerer to free him, but Odin made no attempt to save his father. Bor cursed Odin saying that he would take in the son of a fallen king and raise it as his own. Not a week later, Odin himself led the Asgardians into battle against the Frost Giants and killed Laufey, who was the King, in personal combat. After slaying Laufey, Odin found a small Asgardian-sized child hidden within the primary stronghold of the Frost Giants. The child was Loki and Laufey had kept him hidden from his people due to his shame over his son’s small size. Odin took the boy, out of a combination of pity, to appease his father, and because he was the son of a worthy adversary slain in honorable combat, and raised him as his son alongside his biological son Thor.
Throughout their childhood and into adolescence, Loki was resentful of the differences in which he and Thor were treated by the citizens of Asgard. The Asgardians valued great strength, tenacity, and bravery in battle above all things, and Loki was clearly inferior to his foster brother Thor in those areas. What he lacked in size and strength, however, he made up for in power and skill, particularly as a sorcerer. As Loki grew to adulthood, his natural talent for causing mischief would make itself manifest and earned him a nickname as the “God of Lies and Mischief”; his mischievousness eventually became malice as his hunger for power and revenge grew stronger.
